Govindraj Ethiraj is a television and print journalist who has reported and written on Indian business for over 25 years. He is a media executive and entrepreneur whose public interest journalism ventures including IndiaSpend, FactChecker and BOOM, are safeguarding the transparency, accuracy, and integrity of news in specific and the internet in general in India and world-wide. Previously, he was Founder-Editor in Chief of Bloomberg TV India, Editor (New Media) with Business Standard newspaper, and in various capacities at CNBC-TV18, The Economic Times and leading business magazine. He continues to anchor seasonal shows in the business, economy and financial markets space, on Indian broadcast television and on digital. Govindraj was named a 2018 McNulty Prize Laureate in recognition for his leadership with BOOM, IndiaSpend, and FactChecker. He is a Fellow of the Inaugural Class of Ananta Aspen’s India Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and winner of the 2014 BMW Responsible Leaders Awards.
Nidhi Jacob is a researcher and fact-checker at FactChecker.in. She has a Master's in Criminology from the National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science, New Delhi. She has previously interned with IndiaSpend and Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI).
Prachi has two masters degrees: In economics from Mumbai University and in development studies from the University of Sussex, UK. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai. She has been a research assistant at the Institute of Development Studies (UK) and the Young Foundation (UK). She has also worked for Greenpeace India in the fundraising division. She is a Project Manager at FactChecker.in.
Prem Panicker is a journalist and editor with 32 years experience across print media and the internet. He was one of the group of journalists who helped start Rediff.com, India's first online-only news portal. He was Yahoo India's managing editor until November 2014; since then, he has worked as a freelance editor, writer and media consultant. He is also founding editor of Peepli.org, a site dedicated to longform reporting on the environment, climate, water and related issues.
